Body Building Tips for Beginners
Insights from a first time Women’s Figure Competitor
Hey Tribe,
I wanted to share some helpful tips for beginners that I thought would help anyone looking to start their bodybuilding journey as I know how overwhelming the entire process can be. I’ve contemplated bodybuilding approximately two years before making that final step. Immediately after attending a bodybuilding competition in New Jersey in February 2022, I decided that I needed to experience this journey for myself as I’ve always been super competitive and naturally love sports, my prep began in March and my show was set for August 6th.
Your journey is unique and your length of prep (training period before going on stage) will differ from everyone else, so please DO NOT RUSH YOUR PREP!
Before deciding to bodybuilder, you should ensure that this is absolutely what you want to do, by researching, connecting with former competitors, and attending at least one show.
Become familiar with the various organizations and their requirements so that you know what show may be best for you to compete in and be a part of (OCB, NBP, IBBF, etc.)
SAVE YOUR COINS! Bodybuilding is expensive and you will need to be financially stable or have something saved up (sad to say but it can be a bit costlier for females versus males).
